Art dump! (sort of)

I've recently finished a couple of pictures.
Firstly I got comissioned by the lovely Astri to paint a wedding portrait of her and her (now) husband. (She got married this Saturday! Congratulations!)

I also did a painting based on one of the most random doodles I've done in a while. I've had it pointed out to me after the fact that he reminds people of my bearded boyfriend...? Haha.

Also, I did a speed paint typography kind of doodle as well! Must admit I like this colour combination.

Hope everyone is having a nice summer!

Night Maker.

I painted. He's possibly throwing up night. I mostly just played with shapes.

I drew another owl.

digital, this time.
Ahhh, getting back into drawing. I've been stuck in an uncreative rut of real life stuff for too long, but thanks to making the cover, this little guy and some other bits and bobs for a student magazine, I have the urge back. woop woop.

Live your dream

So I finally picked up the paints and paintbrushes after a hectic week of having moved back to Norway and starting my summer job! Even though it's only been a couple of weeks, there was an immense feeling of homecoming, possibly because it's the first time I've properly sat down to paint since becoming a graduate.

I want to develop my typography, so did this. After thinking a while about things to write, this little cliche appeared on the paper.

Suitable at the moment, though, as I am tentatively moving step by step into the world of becoming a freelance illustrator.

This is mainly a lengthy doodle, hence the slight roughness!

Lovebirds

ahhh yes. Bit of pink mushy doodling. mainly to try and not use blue with brown:P
I do like this little design, bit unsure about the colours though, might redo at some point. But not blue! haha:P
Will probably end up as a bit more recent self promotion on my board for the New Designers show in London! :)

In other news, my end of degree show is up! It feels very bizarre, but good. It feels like me being an illustrator is more "official" now, hah.
Ohhh I want the future.
Looks like I need to order more business cards, too. Blimey.

Young pandaboy

Explorers (or explorer wannabes) seem to be a theme I can't really get rid of when drawing characters....they're just so fun! Here's a little guy done for my coursemates' excellent initiative of a character animation thingie at the New Designers show:) He loves red pandas. He wants to be a red panda.
(I just want a red panda)
